Hi, I’m Kimberley! ๐
(I always hate writing these things… ๐ )
My life isn’t filled with grand adventures, but as a 35-year-old mum of two, part-time kitchen assistant in a nursery, and professional chaos-juggler, there’s rarely a dull moment around here.
When I’m not working or navigating family life, you’ll usually find me curled up with a romance novel and a mug of tea, or in the kitchen putting another recipe through its paces.
I created Chapters & Cravings because I wanted one cosy place to share the things I genuinely loveโhonest book reviews, recipes I’ve tested, supermarket taste tests, food adventures and all the little moments in between.
If you’re looking for perfection, you won’t find it here. But if you’re after honest opinions, cosy recommendations and someone who’ll happily tell you whether a recipe is actually worth making or if that five-star romance lived up to the hype… you’ve found the right place.
๐ค Why Chapters & Cravings
The idea behind Chapters & Cravings is simple.
I don’t write recipes from scratch, and I’m not here to tell you what you should read.
Instead, I love discovering recipes from cookbooks, food websites and family collections, then cooking them in my own kitchen to see whether they’re genuinely worth your time. Every recipe review shares what worked, what I’d change, whether I’d make it again and if it’s earned a permanent place in my recipe collection.
I approach books exactly the same way. Every review reflects my own personal reading experience because stories, like food, are wonderfully subjective. What becomes my next five-star favourite might not be yoursโand that’s part of the fun.
Whether it’s a recipe, a romance novel or a new supermarket snack, if I recommend it, you can trust that it’s something I’ve genuinely enjoyed.
โ Life Between the Chapters
Beyond books and recipes, Chapters & Cravings is also a little glimpse into everyday life.
Family chaos. School runs. Workdays. Quiet evenings with a book. Weekend baking sessions. Trying new restaurants. Finding exciting supermarket releases. Celebrating the little wins.
Life isn’t always picture-perfectโand I don’t think it has to be.
This blog is simply my cosy corner of the internet where I can share the things that make ordinary days feel a little more special.
๐ My Reading Nook
Books have been my comfort place for as long as I can remember.
I grew up devouring Jacqueline Wilson books, and these days you’ll usually find me buried somewhere between romance, romantasy, fantasy and emotionally devastating fictional men who have absolutely no business being that attractive.
I’m definitely a vibes readerโmy mood almost always decides what I pick up nextโand physical books, Kindle books and audiobooks all count equally in my eyes.
Here you’ll find honest book reviews, reading reflections, playlists, bookshelf updates and all the little rituals that make reading feel like home.
๐ฝ๏ธ My Kitchen Notebook
My kitchen is where curiosity usually takes over.
I love finding recipes in cookbooks, on food websites and through family collections, then putting them to the test in my own kitchen.
Rather than creating recipes from scratch, I review them honestlyโsharing what worked, what I’d tweak, whether I’d make them again and if I’d happily recommend them to someone else.
Alongside recipe reviews, you’ll also find supermarket taste tests, food adventures, restaurant visits and plenty of delicious discoveries that simply deserve to be shared.

โจ A Few Fun Facts About Me
๐ I drink more tea than is probably recommended (although Pepsi Max definitely makes an appearance during a heatwave).
๐ฆก I’m a proud Hufflepuffโloyal, cosy, snacks-first and always rooting for the underdog.
๐ I’m a total vibes readerโmy mood chooses the book long before my TBR does.
๐ถ๏ธ Morally grey men, why choose, spice and wolves own a permanent place in my heart.
๐คญ If a fictional manโor my real oneโcalls me “good girl,” I’m an absolute goner.
๐ง Audiobooks absolutely count, and I will happily defend that opinion forever.
๐ My TBR grows far quicker than I can actually read it… and yes, I still buy more books anyway.
๐ฐ I love baking celebration cakes and sweet treats for family and friendsโthere’s nothing better than seeing someone smile because of something you’ve made.
๐ฝ๏ธ If a recipe promises “one pot”, you’ve already got my attention.
๐ One of my favourite weekend hobbies is hunting through charity shops for vintage cookbooksโespecially the wonderfully nostalgic ones from the ’70s and ’80s.
๐ Autumn is my favourite season… right up until Christmas arrives and then winter completely steals my heart.
๐ I can’t leave a bookshop without “just having a look”… somehow I always leave carrying at least one book.
โ My perfect evening is a mug of tea, a cosy blanket and a book that’s impossible to put down.
๐ I genuinely get excited when supermarkets release new foods and snacks.
๐ Cosy will always beat perfect.

๐ฟ Find Me Around the Internet
I’m not everywhereโand that’s completely intentional. I prefer spending my time creating content rather than trying to be on every platform.
If you’d like to follow along, you’ll usually find me here:
